The listing says that applicants would be well-served by being "a fan of World War II shooters," causing some to believe that the game will take place during the WWII era. We've seen less logical rumors come through the mill, but we still can't help but scoff at this gossip. Who would want to play a game based on WWII? What's a war game without AC-130 gunships and guided anti-tank missiles? We'll tell you - it's boring. We'll take futuristic weaponry over rich cultural heritage any day of the week.

1) If the developers who made COD3 are going to make COD5 then COD5 is going to be terrible. Cod2=amazign and COd4=amazing (same developers infinity ward kicks ass) CoD3 sucks balls and so will Cod5 if they do develope it. They need no viehicles and stay modern to make it somewhat of a success. Plus it seems to early to start this game after the success of COD4. To show how bad COD3 was they didn't even put it on the official COD web site. embarrising

Because Activision is the money-mongering company it is, they will release a CoD every year. IW will make a great one every other year while Treyarch fills in the gaps with half-assed installments.

I'm wondering if they're dividing into two development groups.
Treyarch will exclusively make WWII games, and IW modern combat; they're just covering both bases.
I don't know, but I wasn't very impressed with CoD3. I'll give them another chance to impress me though.
