I agree that the game is way to slow with too much dialog. Oblivion is much better.

I finished it a couple of days ago, and my opinion hasn't changed much from what I put in my blog.

I don't necessarily agree with the too much dialogue argument. The FF series is much longer, and has way more that you can't even skip through; atleast you have the option to bypass most of it in ME.

The biggest problem, for me, is the game is plagued by bugs and needs a good cleaning. Framerate, texture-popping, and gameplay mechanics (especially during battles) destroy any experience. Also, repetitive worlds/maps don't help the cause.

On the other hand, I liked the story and the character development - albeit it took basically the whole game to get to.

I think it was a worthy first run though. It really just sets up the story, which isn't uncommon for trilogies.

Fingers crossed for number two.

I'm 7 hours in and adoring it muchly.

Aside from the Vehicle Combat vs Thresher Maws, I love everything about the game.

I'm now 11/12 hours in.

I want to marry this game.

It stomps Oblivion's goofy ass, as far as I'm concerned. Not even close.

Are you kidding. This game is alright but oblivion kicks the shit out of Mass Effect. Oblivion has better everything and is possibly the best game on 360.

Yeah, Mass Effect's technical issues throw Oblivion far ahead of it.

Not kidding.

Mass Effect has it where it counts: Story, Character Progression, Combat, Appropriate level of depth without being daunting.

You're free to disagree but as far as I'm concerned, Oblivion was a squalid disappointment and Mass Effect is fantastic despite it's one or two annoyances.

One or two annoyances? I agree that Mass Effect is a great game, but there are many issues that drag it down. Poor and repetitive combat, texture pop-ins, slow load times, god-awful framerate and weak AI to name a few.
