In layman's terms:

I will upgrade my motherboard so it supports a better bus interface (PCI Express). This way, I can upgrade my graphics card to a GeForce 8800GTS (an awesome graphics card). I will also be upgrading my CPU to a quad core. Because my current RAM is DDR, I will upgrade to 4GB of DDR2. My current HDD is ATA, so I will upgrade to a larger SATA HDD. All of this will require a higher wattage, so I will also upgrade to a larger power supply. The only thing I'm apprehensive about is not getting a 1000W power supply because it pretty much future-proofs your system (configuring two 8800's with SLI would require a 1000W).

That's unnecessary. The 8800GTX Ultra us already ridiculously expensive. If anything, I'll just SLI two 8800GTS's down the road.

I actually already bought 2GB of RAM from James who didn't need it, so now I just need to order 2 more GB, which I'll probably get of that Corsair.
